Charter Policies
Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy:
- Customer Cancellations: All deposits are non-refundable regardless of the time of cancellation. If you need to cancel, we are unable to refund the deposit, but we are happy to reschedule your charter for another available date, depending on availability.
- Weather-Related Cancellations: In the event of unsafe weather conditions, such as lightning storms, very high water, or other unforeseen events, we may need to cancel the charter for safety reasons. If this happens, we will provide you with a rain check that allows you to reschedule your trip at no extra cost.
- Late Arrivals: Charters will depart promptly at the scheduled time. If you are late, the trip duration may not be extended.
Deposit Policy: A $500 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your spot. This deposit will be applied toward your total balance.
Gratuity Guidelines: Gratuities are not included in the charter price. The industry standard is between 15-20%, though tipping is optional. Your guide works hard to ensure you have an unforgettable experience, and gratuities are always appreciated.
Alcohol and Smoking Policies:
- Alcohol: While alcohol is permitted on board, it is not provided by us. We ask that you use your best judgment and know your limits. Safety is our priority, and we may ask you to stop consuming alcohol if it jeopardizes anyone’s safety.
- Smoking: Smoking is permitted, and ashtrays are provided for your convenience. This includes the use of cannabis and cannabis-related products, but we ask that you be considerate of others on the boat.
Health and Safety Regulations: Safety is always our top priority. Life jackets must be worn at all times, and we adhere to all Transport Canada regulations. Please notify us of any medical conditions in advance so we can accommodate your needs.
Equipment Use: All fishing gear and equipment are included. Please handle them with care to avoid damage. Any damages due to negligence may result in additional fees.
Catch Policy:
- Catch-and-Release: White sturgeon are a protected species, and all fish caught must be released. Our guides are trained in safe handling to protect these incredible creatures. For more information about white sturgeon, see our White Sturgeon Species Information section.
- For smaller fish like trout, we provide the necessary tackle and equipment. Subject to local regulations, trout may be kept if desired.
General Conduct: We strive to make every trip enjoyable for everyone on board. Any behavior that endangers others or disrupts the experience may result in the trip being ended early without a refund.
